This piece is absolutely gorgeous! It is solid wood that has been handcarved from south american laurel and painted with a lustrous cherry brown finish. You really have to see it to appreciate fully the beauty. It measures 15" side to side and 15.25" in height. That is the measurements for the actual shelf itself where your book will be displayed. The lectern at it's tallest point is approximately 49". Being solid wood it is not adjustable. This is three pieces of wood that fit together with pegs and holes. Occasionally you could have your column lean ever so slightly as wood does expand and contract. To this end, we have included with your niche a 4 ounce tube of liquid nails. Just drop a few drops in, stand your lectern as desired and voila. Perfection. And by the way if you've never used the product Liquid Nails, it is like magic and you will love it.
